- 10/11/24

08:00 AM

- 01:00 PM

Opposite Haycocks Bush, Motueka River West Bank Rd.

The Motueka Catchment Collective (MCC) invites you to our second BIG community weeding event! Come and help clear Old Man’s Beard from large native trees in the Motueka Valley, next to Haycocks Bush. Last time we cleared 700 metres, let’s see if we can top that!

10 November 8am – 1pm

Opposite Haycocks Bush, Motueka River West Bank Road.

These community events are part of MCC’s mission to control weeds in this area. It’s going to take a huge effort, and this working bee will have a big impact!

Tools and equipment are provided, but please bring your own lunch, secateurs, gloves and folding saw – if you have one. Wear tough gardening gear and be ready to get stuck in! Light refreshments are provided.

This event is part of a larger MCC weedbusting project along the Motueka River West Bank, between the Graham River confluence and working upstream to the Hoods QEII block. We have planned weeding sessions between July 2024 and July 2026, carried out by community groups and contractors.

We hope this event boosts community support for existing weeding groups in the Motueka valley too!
